Rendezvous, curated by Marta Papini, is the first solo exhibition in Italy by Georgian artist Nino Kapanadze. The exhibition originates from an inspiration sparked by a visit to the Scrovegni Chapel in Padua, famous for Giotto’s early 14th-century fresco cycle, which includes what is believed to be the first depiction of a kiss in Western art history. As a homage to this gesture of affection, Rendezvous celebrates tenderness and love through an installation specifically designed for the former Chiesa delle Dimesse in Thiene. The exhibition continues through the adjacent rooms, featuring twenty-six monochrome works on paper and five paintings created by the artist for the occasion, adopting the same proportions used by Giotto in the Stories of Anna and Joachim in Padua.
